Our Story

Vegan Kitchen has been created by local ladies Mum and Daughter team Rebecca and Ella from Todmorden in West Yorkshire.
We love cooking and experimenting with different foods but overall love eating a plant rich diet keeping us balanced mentally and physically. Together we decided to put our passion and inspiration into a business.

I am 42 years old (at the time of writing). Married to my gorgeous husband Gary with two beautiful children Ella and Freddie, living in Walsden, Todmorden. 

Throughout my life I have stayed relatively healthy but admittedly adopted some unhealthy eating habits along the way, which as I grew older noticed how they started to affect my health and wellbeing. 

In January 2020 I decided to take part in a short nutrition/wellness course to understand food in more depth and how it affects our general wellbeing. During the course I gradually eliminated foods from my diet and by the end of the course I had cut out all meat, dairy and processed foods. I felt amazing and was reluctant to return to my old eating habits, so I stuck with it!

As the weeks and months passed the results were incredible. My weight stabilised (without having to hammer the cardio in the gym), I saw an improvement in my skin, said goodbye to bloating and experienced better-quality sleep and more energy.

As well as the physical changes my overall wellbeing improved, I have better mental clarity and my mood is much more balanced. I have learned that eating a plant rich diet is central to my mental and physical health.  Health is wealth so they say.  

The shift in my health has been unbelievable and this inspired me to learn more and research all I can about food and nutrition. Since then I have continued with my learning and currently studying towards a Diploma in Nutrition and Naturopathy. 

21 years old (at the time of writing), daughter of my lovely Mum Rebecca. 

As a sociable young lady, I enjoy my food, the joys of weekend takeaways and eating out with friends. I live with my boyfriend and am chief cook in our house however sometimes I lacked inspiration preparing meals, and I regularly opted for processed foods for convenience. 

During 2020 watching the transformation in my mum’s health and wellbeing was inspirational. I would often call and sample some of the delicious food mum was cooking, and before long was learning to cook similar meals at home. 

In the summer of 2020, I started to exercise regularly and decided to change my diet completely to see if I could also achieve the same results.     

I started by preparing all my meals from scratch, cutting out processed foods and dairy and limiting meat. I found that these changes gave me increased energy and motivation and help me keep focused with my exercise. Since eating plant rich based meals, I have clearer skin, shiny hair and a lot less bloating. 

I am so happy I made these lifestyle changes!
I now maintain a healthy weight and feel much more confident in myself physically and mentally. I am glowing from the inside out!
